You may need to take it to a dealership for them to pull the codes for you Your vehicle utilizes the newest type of communication which is Can-Bus.Alot of older vehicle scantools wont work with this type of system. But if it says service electric brake system there is a code that is in it and in order to properly diagnose your vehicle, I will need that code. He may not have had the proper equipment to diagnose your vehicle. Ok, if the light is on the system has codes in it. Nothing was done and the mechanic spoke to me personally saying that he thought the sensor could just have dirt or gunk on it but did not mention any codes coming up. I think this cost me around $100 with the assumption that it would go toward the repairs if needed. I did take it to a place and have them connect to the ABS sytem. The repairs may range from a clockspring, speed sensor, ABS Module, SCCM, or just needs to be Updated. Once you get the codes, then I can tell you the diagnostics in order to repair your vehicle. When the "Service Electronic Brake System" Message appears, its telling you that you have a fault in the ABS(Anti-Lock Brake System).In order to properly diagnose your vehicle you will need to take it to a shop that has the capability to connect to the ABS Controller.
